I met Adrienne back when I was a brand new, first time mom living in the city of Philadelphia. We both were former elementary school teachers in Philadelphia now staying at home with our babies, looking for activities to keep our babies ourselves busy. We joined a local Mom club and quickly became friends. We had a blast taking the kids to local parks, music classes and commiserating about new motherhood together. I was beyond sad to leave Adrienne and the new mom friends I had made in the city when we decided to move to the suburbs when my son turned one. So when I found out the Adrienne and her family were making the move to the ‘burbs not long after, I couldn’t be happier. 

Adrienne is such a kind-hearted, considerate person. You can see that in the way she cares for animals, the environment and her friends. It was no surprise to me to find out that she had been a teacher. After teaming up with Mary Cate to start Remix, we knew Adrienne would be the perfect addition to our team of instructors. She leads her classes in such a calm, yet motivating way. Her previous teaching skills shine through when she is explaining a move or pushing you to drop a little deeper if your squat. We know you are going to love her and her classes as much as we do!

Remix fitness instructor- adrienne1. Tell us about you… background, family, work, etc.

I have two adorable kids that keep me very busy.  I have a four year old daughter and a one year old son.  A wonderful husband and newfypoo round out the family.  We moved to Ambler from center city in 2015 for more space and it didn’t hurt that my husband’s job and entire family have always lived around here as well.

I’m from Connecticut originally and I’m still trying to memorize all these little towns and townships around here.  Don’t quiz me yet! 

Before kids I taught fourth grade in Philadelphia and absolutely loved it.  It was a ton of work but I knew I always wanted to be a teacher in some way.  Every September I definitely get a little nostalgic about setting up my classroom.

2. What inspired you to become a Remix Instructor?

I have always loved group exercise classes ever since I first stepped into one my freshman year of high school.  I’ve been hooked ever since.  My two favorite passions are teaching and exercise so I couldn’t imagine a better job then one that combines my two loves!

3. Describe your classes and what clients can expect. 

You can find me 6:15am Tuesday mornings for Remix Barre and 6:15am Thursday mornings for the Remix Method. Expect to work every muscle and walk out of there feeling fantastic and ready to tackle anything that is thrown at you that day.  My upbeat and trendy music will motivate you to work at your hardest level, even though you might of just rolled out of bed!

4. What do you love about teaching? 

I love sharing my creative ways to work every muscle.  A group atmosphere holds you accountable and leaves you feeling empowered and strong.

4. What do you love about Remix? 

Once you meet the fantastic group of instructors and down to earth, caring owners you’ll understand why I, and everyone else loves Remix.  It’s a studio that truly cares about you and wants you to reach your goals.  Most studios only offer one type of class which makes it impossible to get a well rounded workout and reach your health and strength goals.  Remix offers different type of classes for every level.  Anyone can walk out of there feeling empowered and strong.

5. What would you tell anyone that hasn’t tried Remix yet?

On top of a fabulous mix of classes there is childcare.  Not just childcare where you drop your children off and they watch TV.  Your children will be stimulated through music, books, and free play.  You can feel great about yourself getting a workout in and leave with zero mom guilt!

6. What song can you always count on to motivate you during a workout? 

We don’t Walk, We Fly by Sam Feldt.  It is hard to pick.  There is a lot out there.

7. What’s your favorite exercise move and why? 

I love the lunge, there are so many different ways you can do a lunge and you don’t need to do too many before your legs really start shaking.

8. Frequently overheard in class: What’s something you typically find yourself saying to your classes? 

“Get lower!!!!!!”

9. What’s YOUR mix? (What classes do you typically take and why?) 

I appreciate changing it up but my true favorites are barre and sculpt classes. I love the way you feel walking out knowing you’re going to be the good kind of sore the next day.
