I met Jamie back when I had first moved to the area through a local mom group. I had always thought she was such a nice and genuine person, but I didn’t really get to know her until she started coming to my neighborhood pop-up classes last year. Her second child was just a baby at the time and she blew me away with her determination and hard work throughout the workouts. Her form is always impeccable and she does it all with a smile on her face.

It was after her first class with me that I knew Jamie would make an amazing instructor. After going through our Remix Method Training, Jamie picked up instructing immediately. She was born for this!! When you’re in her class, you’ll feel motivated and encouraged, and she has a way that instantly puts you at ease when you walk into the class. And, with a father that moonlights as a DJ on the side, you know her music is always on point. Be sure to sign yourself up to try one of Jamie’s classes today!

Remix Instructor Spotlight- Jamie

Remix Fitness instructors- Jamie1. Tell us about you… background, family, work, etc.

I am a stay-at-home mom of two kids, four and one, and reside in Flourtown with my husband Christopher.

Prior to group fitness, I was a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) and Reading Specialist for eleven years, in addition to a former cheerleader who transitioned to coaching for a variety of age levels and disabilities. It was quite a rewarding career!

My love for fitness and overall wellness began with a personal training session and eventually flourished into a true passion of mine! The gym became a haven for me; a place to release the frustrations of the day, pump up the music and relish in some alone time. I enjoyed the atmosphere so much that I even took on a part time job that continued to fuel my love for fitness and acquiring that sense of balance in my life. It only seems fitting to mesh my two loves into the perfect “Remix” as an Instructor.

2. What inspired you to become a Remix Instructor?

After my second pregnancy, I began struggling to carve out time for myself. It became a constant battle until I came to the realization that I deserve to take care of myself, and in doing so, I have become not only a better mother, but a higher quality partner and friend.
These classes are fabulous and I can attest to their method as it was a major component in shedding the remaining baby weight. I tried everything from returning to the gym, purchasing at home training videos; yet I struggled to remain focused with the programs. Eventually, I grasped that I was lacking that connection with the instructor and quite honestly, just time out of the house by myself.
Once I attended one of Tricia’s pop up classes, I was hooked! Being able to attain a full-body workout in 45 minutes and the fact that the workouts are ever changing, helped to eliminate a plateau and kept it fun in the process!

3. Describe your classes and what clients can expect.

In the evenings, you can find me teaching Remixed Cardio on Mondays and the Remix Method on Wednesdays, which are both at 6:15 pm.

Be prepared to sweat and challenge yourself, but also feel comfortable whether you’re a seasoned group fitness client or a beginner; as these classes are geared for all fitness abilities.

4. What do you love about teaching?

I love the personal connection with the clients and the sense of community that forms within a class. I find it inspiring to witness clients step out of their comfort zone and become stronger physically and mentally.

It is also more engaging to be present within a live class than streaming a video from home. I would be lying if I didn’t admit to cheating on my reps at home!

5. What do you love about Remix?

I love that every class as well as instructor is authentic and unique.

6. What would you tell anyone that hasn’t tried Remix yet?

There is definitely something for everyone; so come out, break a sweat, and meet some amazing people in the process!

7. What song can you always count on to motivate you during a workout?

My dad has been a DJ for over 30 years and music is in my blood, so honestly anything goes!

8. What’s your favorite exercise move and why?

The plank because not only is it a full body move, it’s also easy to advance and modify for any fitness level.

9. Frequently overheard in class: What’s something you typically find yourself saying to your classes?

“Breathe.”

“Do not compromise your form.”

“Just one more rep; I promise ;)”

10. What’s YOUR mix? (What classes do you typically take and why?)

I love any kind of workout that gets my endorphins flowing while training my body to get to that next level (whether its an additional pushup or sprinting an extra minute). My favorite classes are Remixed Cardio and the Remix Method, which I am lucky enough to be currently teaching 🙂
