How to Bounce Back to Your Fitness Strong after Vacation

August is a busy time of year for vacations.

It’s a great thing to be able to go away and decompress from work and all the stresses of your day to day.

The last thing that you want is to come back being stressed on losing any momentum you may have had when it comes to your fitness routine.

Here are some tips for you!

How to Bounce Back to Your Fitness Strong after Vacation

Get some sleep

This may seem like a strange tip since you went away on vacation and presumably got plenty of rest. However, many times your sleep may be off after vacation. Maybe you are a little jet lagged from traveling? Be sure to prioritize getting back into good sleep habits when you get back so you are feeling ready to go.

Make sure your diet & water intake are on point

Similar to the above, your diet and water intake may have been lacking on vacation. You also may be feeling dehydrated from a plane ride. Be sure to increase your water intake and stock up on plenty of fruits, vegetables and healthy snacks to get you motivated and feeling good.

Book your classes in advance

We recently did another entire blog post on this, but booking your classes in advance can greatly help you get back on track after going away on vacation.

Even before you go away, it’ll be helpful to book your classes, so that when you are tired from your trip when you return, you don’t even have to think about booking your classes. You’ll get the reminder and all you’ll have to do is grab your exercise gear and go.

Stretch

If you’ve been traveling, you may find that you are tight and sore. Cat/cow, chest stretches, hamstring stretches and hip flexor stretches are the perfect way to loosen you up to prepare you to jump back into your routine. Think about signing up for a pilates or yoga class when coming back so you have the stretches built right into your workout.

Ease back into it

Finally, whenever you’ve taken some time off, it’s best to ease back into things to avoid injury. Start out with level ones and gradually progress back to where you were before.
