How to Choose Which Remix Fitness Class to Take First

If you are brand new to Remix and our concept then you may be wondering how to choose which Remix Fitness Class to Take First.

Before we dive into the details, it’s best if we explain why we mix it up in the first place.

Before we opened up Remix, we were like many of you trying to figure out how to get in shape and stay in shape. While we knew the importance of variety, we were big fans of big box gyms. We felt overwhelmed walking into the big spaces and by ourselves… even as certified personal trainers ourselves!

Instead, we fell in love with the boutique fitness studio model. We loved the small, intimate setting to workout. It was great to have a place where everyone knew your name and missed you when you were gone. It was that extra sense of community and motivation that we knew was so important when it came to our health wellness.

The only problem with the typical boutique is that there’s no variety. Usually you’ll find a spin studio, a barre studio or a boot camp place.

This is where Remix comes in. We took the variety of a big box gym with the support and accountability of a small boutique.

Here's what one of our members has to say:

Love Remix and all the classes they offer. Everyone is so friendly and I enjoy changing up my workouts everyday. They have a nice variety to choose from and the virtual classes make it so easy to join in or even take more than one class during the day. I’ve enjoyed all the instructors as well. Great spot and I’m glad they opened up their second location in Plymouth.

Ready to get started? Here’s how to choose which Remix Fitness Class to Take First…

Start with the Times

Since we offer levels in every class, we typically recommend starting at the days and times that work best for you. The number one reason people list as having a difficult time making time for their health and wellness is time. The second reason is motivation. So, why not make it easier for yourself and choose the days and times that work best for you. If you’re not really someone who enjoys waking up early, then it’s better to start with a class in the evening or during the day.

We have mixed up the classes for each time so if you stick with the same time each day you’ll be getting a nice mix and variety from cardio to strength training.

Start in Your Comfort Level

Another place to start is your comfort level. We realize that walking into any new place can feel very intimidating, especially a fitness studio. We get it! We want to do whatever we can to put you at ease and make you feel welcomed. If that means starting in a class you feel MOST comfortable in, then that’s a great place to start.

For example, if you are someone who enjoys taking spin classes, then why not start with one of our spin classes first? Then, as you feel more comfortable, you can start to branch out and try some more strength training classes or classes in the other studio.

If you are brand new to working out or haven’t been coming in a long time, then it might be a good idea to try a class with a “mix” like our Method class. Our method class has a combination of cardio, strength training, barre and stretching. This way you get a little taste of everything and you know that you won’t be with one type of workout for long since we change it up throughout the class.

Just Start!

No matter what class you start with, the most important thing to do is to just start. So many times we can talk ourselves out of trying new things and we let that fear of the unknown take over. We usually make it out to be scarier than it really is!

We say this often, but often times the most challenging part of class is showing up. Once you do that, the rest is cake!
