Set SMART Goals

You may have heard of SMART goals. Goals take more time to plan than resolutions, however, you are more likely to achieve them in the end when you put the work in up front.

SMART Goals stands for Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, and Time-Bound.

How can you even know if you’ve achieved your goal if your goal isn’t specific, measurable, or time-bound?

It’s also important to be realistic with yourself and set attainable and relevant goals. Is losing 50 lbs in two weeks attainable, safe, or sustainable? Definitely not. If you need help in coming up with attainable and relevant goals, connect with those who can help you. Sign up for a fitness or nutrition consultation to come up with goals.

Set reminders to check in with your goals

How many times have you set a goal or a resolution and then totally forgotten about it?

If you want to achieve your goals, then you need set a timeline. Use your calendar or your phone reminders to set alerts in the future to check in with your goals.

When that alert goes off, it’s a great time to check in. Did you achieve your goal? Maybe it’s time to bump it up. Did you miss the mark? Go over what happened. Do you need to modify your goal for the next month.

Start with setting reminders more frequently in the beginning.

Share your goal with a friend

Did you know that you are more likely to achieve your goal if you share it with someone else?
