We are so excited to kick off our new blog series, MEET YOUR TEACH!, where we invite one of our instructors to share a little bit about themselves and their lives inside and outside of the studio! 

This week, we sat down with Julie Shapiro to talk about all things health and wellness! 

Name: Julie Jacobs Shapiro

Age: 34

Location: Willow Grove, PA

Tenure as an instructor: 10 months

What brought you to remix in the first place? Group fitness has always been a staple of my life since my college days. I thrive when I am surrounded by others, using their energy and encouragement to keep going. I also appreciate a full body workout and as many cardio-dance moves as possible in a routine. Remix gave me all of that and more! I love not having to make any decisions and having the instructor's guide me through. 

What are your favorite classes to teach? Anything that we can “catch the beat” to! I love putting together choreographed classes. 

What music can members expect to hear in your classes? Rihanna and Kygo! I love the club music. 

What is your go-to move? Wide squat pleas… our inner thighs do not get enough love! 

What is your morning routine? Up at 6:45, water, vitamins, coffee and then 45 minutes to read and get my head clear before walking the dogs at 8a and logging onto work at 8:30. I am a woman who thrives on routine! 

Favorite wellness hack? Wearing my bala bands around my house when I vacuum and on our dog walks. 

Wellness product recommendation?: The HATCH alarm clock. This thing has changed my life! I wake up in the best mood, and it is so easy to get out of bed. Gamechanger!
